Trainees speak out
Friday 22 November 2024
At Lehmann & Troost, we believe it’s important to bring new talent into our team. We do this through a sales traineeship, where we train participants to become fully-fledged members of our sales team. Today, we let a few of our trainees speak for themselves:
Yoran chose the traineeship to get familiar with the foundations of international day trading in the fresh produce sector. Joey also joined because of his interest in sales to foreign markets. He previously worked in wholesale and wanted to transition into sales. For Danny, the appeal was working for a small family-run business!
Both Joey and Yoran say that building their own import and export portfolios is currently the most exciting part of the job. It’s a key part of the traineeship — a strong network is essential! Danny added: “Every day is a new challenge.”
When asked what they’re looking forward to most in the traineeship, Joey’s answer was clear: starting with sales! Yoran is excited to grow his distribution network and build a solid import client base. Danny looks forward to spending many more years working daily with fresh fruit and vegetable trade.
All three chose Lehmann & Troost for their sales traineeship. But what makes it such a great place to work?
Yoran shared: “Compared to bigger companies, this is a small family business where everyone works closely together. That means you learn something from everyone and get swept up in the speed and energy of the job.”
For Joey, it’s the clarity and structure — “I always know where I stand.”
Danny appreciates the “no words, just action” mentality — something that clearly defines Lehmann & Troost.
And finally, the most important question for any future fruit and vegetable trader: what’s your favorite?
Yoran: Avocado.
Joey: Cherries.
Danny: Bell pepper.
